A musical program by Diane Taraz
Followed by tea and pastries
Women left few written records, but we can learn much about them through the music that they used to speed their work, lift their spirits, or ease an aching heart. Diane will perform songs of love, childbirth, marriage and adventure, playing lap dulcimer and guitar and wearing traditional dress. Following the program, the audience is invited to sit and chat over tea and pastries. The program is free and open to the public and is possible through a grant from the Sheffield Cultural Council. Presented by Sheffield Historical Society.
