After her father’s death, Sarah Moore Field (1885-1988) lived alone on the estate her grandfather purchased, the Field-Hodges House, with the accumulated belongings of three generations. Although Field hoped her home would become a house museum, the intent of her will required a more creative solution, which Historic New England helped develop. Consequently, Historic New England has a substantial amount of Field family objects in its collections. Join Dr. Susan J. Montgomery at this virtual talk to learn about this innovative approach that may be a model for stewards of other historic sites.
