Free to Learn with Dr. Peter Gray

Why Play is Such a Powerful Vehicle for Children's Learning

Peter Gray is a Research Professor in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at Boston College.

Dr. Gray's recent research focuses on the role of play in human evolution and how children educate themselves, through play and exploration, when they are free to do so. He has expanded on these ideas in his book Free to Learn: Why Unleashing the Instinct to Play Will Make Our Children Happier, More Self-Reliant, and Better Students for Life.

Dr. Gray's four new collections of essays can be purchased now at Tipping Points Press. He also authors a regular blog called "Freedom to Learn" for Psychology Today and maintains an active Facebook page .

This program is made possible through federal funds provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services as administered by Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

Zoom invitations will be sent out one day before the event.
