Native Americans of New England: History, Colonial Legacies and Survival (virtual)

We will explore ...

  • the impact that colonization, dispossession, and racism has had on the story of Indigenous peoples in the region;

  • Native American resistance, adaptation, and survival under often harsh and unfavorable circumstances;

  • colonial legacies that still shape the views and (mis-) perceptions about Indigenous peoples to this day.

Christoph Strobel is Professor of History at the UMass Lowell. He is the author of many books on immigration and Native Americans, including Native Americans of New England.
