Discovered Truths in Discarded Books: A Wordy Art Workshop

  • Bushnell-Sage Library 48 Main Street Sheffield, MA, 01257 United States (map)

Discover found word poetry & mixed media collage in this art workshop with Suzi Banks Baum. We will use discarded books to create artist journals. We will explore a variety of mixed media art techniques including frottage, photomontage, and simple printing techniques to make found word collages with stencils, acrylic paints and inks, and watercolor paints. When we create art with old pages, new stories emerge in collage and poetry. We will also use upcycled found papers and colorful textiles to create our own art journals from books that would otherwise be cast-off.

Please bring an apron, your own lunch, and a water bottle. All art materials are provided. This workshop is open to all, ages 13 and up. No previous experience necessary. Participants will help with clean up at the end of the workshop.

Registration is currently full. Please email us to add your name to the wait list.
